To identify warning signs of melanoma, you can use the ABCDE rule:

A: Asymmetry – If a spot's two halves don't match, it could be a sign of a problem.


B: Border – Normal skin spots have smooth, consistent borders, while melanomas may appear jagged or uneven.


C: Color – Melanomas have inconsistent colors with shades of brown, black, gray, red, or white mixed together.


D: Diameter – Larger skin spots, especially those bigger than a pencil eraser, can be a sign of skin cancer.


E: Evolving – Normal skin spots maintain a consistent appearance over time, so if a mole starts to grow or change in shape and texture, it could be melanoma. Early detection is crucial for effective treatment.
