Mike pence announces withdrawal from us presidential race

Elections, as we all know, come with a hefty price tag, and this holds true not just in India, but across the globe. The race to presidential power in the United States is no exception. In a surprising turn of events, the lack of financial backing forced former Vice President and Republican figurehead Mike Pence to suspend his own presidential campaign.

In a heartfelt message, Pence expressed his unwavering commitment to the journey he embarked upon: 'We always knew this would be an uphill battle, but I have no regrets. The only thing harder than falling short would have been never trying at all. To the American people, I say this is not my time, but it's still your time. I urge you to hold fast to what matters most – faith, family, and the Constitution of the United States.'

Trouble had been brewing for Pence ever since he announced his presidential bid in June. A campaign finance report filed by Pence earlier this month revealed a bleak financial picture. He had managed to raise just under $1.2 million in the current quarter, accompanied by a daunting accumulated debt of $600,000.

Comparing this to other Republican candidates, the differences are stark. Former President Donald Trump's fundraising committee collected $35 million in the second quarter, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis raised over $20 million, Nikki Haley's campaign accumulated $7.3 million, and Senator Tim Scott managed to rake in $6.1 million. Pence's $1.2 million pales in comparison.

Analysts suggest that Pence's public fallout with Trump after the January 6, 2021, Capitol Hill riots played a pivotal role in his inability to secure substantial Republican support. His refusal to reject President Joe Biden's Electoral College Victory during that tumultuous time strained his relationship with Trump and his supporters.

With financial constraints and the lasting impact of his decisions during the Capitol Hill riots, it appears that Mike Pence's presidential campaign has come to an end, leaving the GOP with a different landscape to navigate."
